Have you ever just gazed out into the night sky? The darkness enveloping the light, and leaving only tiny specks to glimmer; those specks shine even brighter because of it. The moon, with its radiant sheen reflects your gaze, and finally you blink. Have you ever stood on the beach, the crest of the ocean, with all its vastness at your feet? The rippling tide, waves caressing your toes until you draw back, with a shiver of uneasiness. Have you ever just lay down on your bed and stared at your ceiling, trying ever so hard to penetrate the barrier? And thought to yourself in the silence and peaceful manner of your mind about the day. Where have you retreated when your anger got the best of you? Where did you go when you felt so helpless? What happened when you needed God the most? ...I've always gone to someplace familiar to me, because there I feel comfort, knowing, and in control. Nothing really went wrong within my domain, it seemed that I could make whatever had previously just happened disappear. I would calm down, find my center, and everything would be OK again. Have you ever pondered how massive everything actually is? Not only are things big on Earth, but in space, large things like our houses or fireworks, or a farmer's 30 acre plot of land seem minuscule in comparison. How truly little things are, and how large they can seem is just simply stupendous. It's amazing. After just those humongous things, how large then, can God be? Nothing, and when I say nothing, I mean nothing, nothing compares to how phenomenal God must be. And to help such little people as us, his children, the whole universe, his creation, his love for us has to be grander than any person could ever imagine. Just looking at small flowers, particles in a microscope, vast oceans, and tall mountains, we find a sense of ourselves. Within everyone and everything is a little bit of us, always waiting to be brought out by one another. God loves us so very much. There is truly no comparison. AMEN
