This is today,
We live today,
Or do we live to die?
Surely not this way.
There is hope today,
Fear today,
Love today,
Death today.
There is music today,
Good and bad,
Loud and soft,
Happy and sad.
It's about today,
In this moment,
Not tomorrow,
Not yesterday.
It isn't about whether it is right,
Or it is wrong,
Nonetheless,
It is today.
One step today,
One heartbeat today,
One soul today,
One humanity today.
One nation today,
And all of its people,
Live a loss,
Live a new hope.
Live in a new day,
No worries from the past,
No haunting nightmares,
No future tense.
Nothing but today,
This moment,
This heartbeat
It's times like these,
When the world is flooded with light,
And the temperature just right,
That are the happiest times for me,
The most revered in my memory.
It's times like these,
That my thoughts seem the clearest,
And inspiration is my fluent language,
How so,
That I begin to sing.
It is autumn,
And the sun has touched the leaves,
The garments of the trees,
They are gilded,
In vibrant colors.
New lives are in the making,
Bad thoughts are gone or breaking,
Lackadaisical birds are slowly waking,
As the winter soon approaches.
The beauty is momentary,
The euphoria is made stationary,
Picture-perfect sights wane
I know myself,
But there is fog,
That blocks my view.
Can I fulfill my dreams?
Or are they hopeless,
Tricks my mind plays?
I feel alone,
Forever destined to be,
Enclosed behind the curtain.
I struggle and shudder,
The fabrics of life turn to shreds of darkness,
It envelops me.
I see a hand coming from a light,
I am wary,
But follow.
I grab hold,
It pulls me back to the world,
I remember how I despised it so.
But that was before,
This is now,
The past has come and gone.
Look to the light for your guidance,
It shall not fail you,
No matter what.
I am putting my life back together,
Piece by piece,
While the Lord stands
This is today,

Have you ever just gazed out into the night sky? The darkness enveloping the light, and leaving only tiny specks to glimmer; those specks shine even brighter because of it. The moon, with its radiant sheen reflects your gaze, and finally you blink. Have you ever stood on the beach, the crest of the ocean, with all its vastness at your feet? The rippling tide, waves caressing your toes until you draw back, with a shiver of uneasiness. Have you ever just lay down on your bed and stared at your ceiling, trying ever so hard to penetrate the barrier? And thought to yourself in the silence and peaceful manner of your mind about the day. Where have
I know but two things at this moment. Do what you do without regret, and that Jesus Christ is the son of God. and but one word strikes me as truthful this night; AMEN. I dare say these things out of my heart, against the fear and pain of hatred, because I believe and I need to share my belief with all. So I must openly say that I am a Christian. I am a Catholic. I am a believer in God the Father, Jesus Christ, his only Son, and the Holy Spirit, which reins over us this night. I do hope that these words touch some of you. I love you all. AMEN!!!!!
